The list is definitely very metalcore, but if that's what he was looking for than I would say its a solid list. I personally would have put a Jimmy Ryan Era HTD song on there instead of Keech era, but I'm that-guy who thinks HTD went downhill after JR.
HtD was the toughest band to pick a song from, i love both era's to be honest. the guy i'm giving this to is new to heavy music altogether and i feel that Keech has a more accessible sound; once you get use to listening to metalcore then you appreciate the Jimmy Ryan-era much more.
Good call, JR is a lot more of an acquired taste. Although, his era of HTD is what got me into metal(core) along with Demon Hunter. But it was definitely the Clean singing in Burning Bridges that initially grabbed my attention.
